My soul followeth hard after Thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me (Psalm 63:8).
“Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white as snow…. And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.” That is, until the Lamb said, “I must be about my Father’s business.” Now Mary must follow the Lamb. “These are they which follow the Lamb” (Rev. 14:4). Our passion must be following Him. I join with the psalmist: “My soul followeth hard after Thee, O God.” I confess, I am a God chaser.

Psa 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. KJV
Psa 63:8 My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. NASB
Psa 63:8 My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me. AMPC
Psa 63:8 My soul [my life, my very self] clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. AMP
The phrase followeth hard means to adhere to or to be glued to. Our soul(mind, will and emotions) or as the Amplified Classic says "My whole being follows hard after you" It is time we follow God with everything we got! Every fiber of our being needs follow hard after the Lord. Every fiber of our being desires and was created to follow God but allow the life that He gave us to interfere with our relationship with Him It is time to stop playing games! It is time to stop being complacent and lazy. It is time to stop putting other things before our relationship with our God. He must be first. We must be glued to Him. We must be like Jacob and hold on to God.
Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psalm 63:2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. KJV
Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psa 63:2 So I have gazed upon You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. AMP
David was a man after God's heart( 1 Samuel 13:14) David was thirsty & hungry for God! Being hungry and thirsty refer to appetite. Are you Hungry for God? Are you thirsty for God? We need to be thirsty for the living water within us. This living water comes from God. We need to keep replenishing this water by being thirsty for more and continually seeking Him.
Psalm 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Psalm 42:2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? KJV
Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks, So my soul pants [longingly] for You, O God.
Psa 42:2 My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and see the face of God?
God is our source of spiritual life, He is our source of refreshment. He is the well that feeds the Rivers of life that spring up within us. When you buy a bottle of spring water, the label say "Bottled at the source" Let us follow hard after God, thirst for Him and have of rivers refreshed from the source. Let us drink for the well of the one True and Living God Jesus!!!
Joh 7:37 Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!
Joh 7:38 He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, 'From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.'" AMP
Let the river flow. Keep the River flowing by tapping into the source of life and living water. Thirst for Him, Hunger for Him, follow hard after Him!!! (P.K.)
