God Chasers Daily Devotion-#14- I Want Him

I know there’s more because there are people who encountered the “more” and were changed forever—God chasers! I pray, “Lord, I want to see You like John saw You! I want to know You like Paul knew You!”
(Tommy Tenney)

Reflection by Pastor Kevin

Just like the author I believe like me you desire to See the Lord Like John, know the Lord like Paul also. We want to see the beauty of His Majesty & Holiness. In saying that, we must always make sure we keep an aye on our motives. Do we want to see and know because of who He is with no personal interest or gain. Do we want to know Him because we are so grateful for what Hi did for us? Do we want to know Him because He loves and we love Him? Why do we want to see Him?  Remember, when John first saw Him, John fell as if he were dead. We must desire to know Him, not for what He can do for us, but for what we can do for Him! We must desire to know Him with a pure heart and a heart of gratitude. For all He did for us, it is the least we can do to want to know Him on a deep intimate and personal level. Look at what Paul writes:
Php 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Php 3:9  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Family, It is all about Jesus and getting to know Him more and more every day! I believe that sometimes in our journey to know Him, we can get distracted and even misled by our own intentions, desires, feelings and emotions. We Love Jesus. We want to know him but what is in it for us? Let us decide today, that we wabt to know Him just to know HIm for who He is, What He has done and because of the great love and mercy He has for us.
Mark 8:23  And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
Mark 8:24  And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
Mark 8:25  After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
As we see in the scripture above Jesus pray for this man twice. The first time, the man did not see clearly, but oh the second time he saw clearly. Maybe you know Jesus, but you realize as we are on this journey that know Him but you don't see Him clearly. Maybe at one time you knew Him and saw Him clearly but some of the things mentioned above have clouded your vision and distanced the relationship with Him. Maybe you already see Him and know Him clearly, but just want more. It is not too late! Cry out to Him! Get Hungry for Him! Seek Him & Find Him. Cry out to Him and say Lord "More of You, Less of Me Touch Me Again" (P.K.)

I agree. We should never never be satisfied with just a little sprinkling of God's presence in our daily lives. We should always be aiming for more. With more of his presence we can do more good. For the kingdom.

I concur with Pastor Vanessa, we should not settle with what we have, we should yearn for more. Our father God is powerful and almighty and I am hungry to know more, to spread his word and to witness his glories.
