Christ says, “Give me All…. I have not come to torment your natural self, but to kill it. No half-measures are any good. I don’t want to cut off a branch here and a branch there, I want to have the whole tree down.”
And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving [all your wishes and hopes] back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in.
We can only do it for moments at first.
(C.S. Lewis, excerpts from Mere Christianity)

Reflection by Pastor Kevin
Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deu 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.KJV

Jesus wants all of us and He deserves it. He want us to love and desire Him with everything we have. Every moment of every day. Every where we go. Every thought we think. Every word we say. Our relationship with Jesus should be the most important thing in our life.
The verses found in Deuteronomy above come from what is called The Shema which is part of the Jewish morning and evening prayer services. We need to get these scriptures and what they tell us to do deeply embedded into our spirits. Jesus needs to be the center of our life. Jesus needs to be our primary focus and the center of our ambitions. Start each day off right by making Jesus the center and main focus of your attention. Let us keep seeking Him with all we have. When we seek Him with all we have and make Him number one in our lives, we will see His face. (P.K.)
