The great danger for [beginners in the spiritual life] will be to become satisfied with their religious works and with themselves.
They would prefer to teach rather than to be taught.
Their hearts grow attached to the feelings they get from their devotional life. They focus on the affect, and not on the substance of devotion.
(St. John of the Cross, excerpts from The Dark Night of the Soul)

Reflection by Pastor Kevin
Mat 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
Believers do not fall into the trap of the enemy by thinking we have arrived, there is nothing more to learn and we know all that there is to know. We must always remain humble and teachable letting the Lord guide us everyday. We will never "arrive", we will never know it all and we will always need the direction of our Lord. Stay focused, stay on course and learn all you can from Jesus each and every day!

Amen! Being humble and teachable helps us to become a better person. Less judgemental and more loving which is what God desires
Personally I asked Jesus to help me not to forget about where I was with out him and all the process that I had been thru. I asked him to be part of all my decisions and to all the aspects of my life, all! During each season I moved closer to Him. He is not done with me, he is not done with any of us, we are a work in process that thru his word we get to know our God and trust him. Who will be better to know us than our Creator?
